Kyle Orton recorded his first career 300-yard passing game last Sunday against the Lions and now has at least two touchdown throws in three straight games. Michael Turner had his third 100-yard rushing game of the season in Week 5 and currently leads all NFL players with 543 yards on the ground in 2008. Turner also has 14 runs of 10 or more this year—tied with Marion Barber for most in football. Matt Forte still leads all rookies in the league with 383 yards rushing in 2008, but his lead has dwindled to just two yards over Tennessee's Chris Johnson. Since averaging 100.3 rush yards per game in his first three contests, Forte is averaging just 39.5 yards on the ground in his last two. Roddy White had his ninth career 100-yard receiving game in Week 5 and now has 454 receiving yards in 2008—third most among all NFL players. Ronnie Brown recorded his 12th career 100-yard rushing game last Sunday—eight of those performances have come on the road and one at Reliant Stadium. Brown has now gone over the century mark in six of his last seven starts dating to last season. Steve Slaton had 96 total yards in Week 5 (93 rush, 3 rec) and is now the only player in the AFC and one of five in the entire league with 250+ rush yards and 100+ receiving yards in 2008. Slaton is the only running back on the Texans' squad with a rushing TD this season. Le'Ron McClain recorded a touchdown in his third straight game in Week 5 and now has four total on the season for the Ravens. As a team, Baltimore has seven rushing TDs in 2008—tied with Tennessee for most in the AFC. The Ravens haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher in an NFL-high 23 straight games. Adrian Peterson had just 32 yards rushing on 21 carries in Week 5, the third-lowest output in his 19 career NFL games. Peterson is averaging 115.4 yards per game at home since joining the league in 2007—best of any player in football. Raider backs have had six 20+ yard runs this season—most of any AFC team in 2008. Oakland players had 13 such runs in 2007 (fourth most in the AFC). Devery Henderson recorded his fifth career 100-yard receiving game on Monday night and is averaging 31.7 yards per catch thus far in 2008—highest among all players with at least 10 receptions this season. T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught two touchdown passes last weekend in Dallas, the sixth time in his career he's accomplished the feat and the fifth time he's done it on the road. Chris Perry has put the ball on the ground at least once in every 2008 game and five times total this season—most among all NFL running backs. Three of those fumbles have been recovered by Bengals' opponents. Redskins' quarterbacks have not thrown an interception is 283 consecutive pass attempts—the longest active streak in football. The last player to pick off a Washington QB was defensive lineman Larry Triplett when he was playing for Buffalo last season (12/2/07). Steven Jackson has accounted for 80.1% of the Rams' rush yards in 2008 (269 of 336)—the highest percentage of any back in football. St. Louis is averaging 84.0 yards per game on the ground this season as a team (27th in the NFL) Brandon Marshall (423 yards) and Eddie Royal (321 yards) are the AFC's top duo with 744 combined receiving yards in 2008. Royal was a bit limited last week with an ankle injury, but is expected to be better for this game. Week 5 marked the first time this season that neither of those two Bronco receivers had a touchdown catch. Jay Cutler is averaging 300.4 pass yards per game in 2008 (best in AFC) Terrell Owens recorded his 136th career touchdown last weekend and is now tied with Marshall Faulk for fourth on the all-time list. Owens has not had a 100-yard receiving game since Week 14 in 2007—a span of eight straight games. Jason Whitten has 35 receptions already in 2008 (2nd most in football) and his 442 receiving yards this season are most among all NFL tight ends by a long shot (Chris Cooley is second with 288 yards). Donovan McNabb went without a touchdown pass for the first time this season in Week 5 and just the 10th time in his last 53 games overall. The Eagles are 2-8 when McNabb plays and does not have a TD throw since the beginning of 2004. As a team, the Eagles have dropped 14 Donovan McNabb passes this season—most of any team in the league. Frank Gore has 423 of San Francisco's 551 rush yards in 2008 (76.8%) and despite garnering just 54 yards on the ground last week against New England, is averaging 101.4 yards per game in his last five home games (dating to last season). Gore leads all players with 603 scrimmage yards this season. Opposing quarterbacks have averaged a 107.3 rating against the Seahawks this season (3rd highest in the league) and have 12 completions of 25 or more yards vs. the Seattle defense in 2008—tied for most in football. Greg Jennings is averaging 113.8 receiving yards per game this season (best in the league) and has three touchdown catches in his last two games. Jennings has eight receptions of 25+ yards in 2008—also best in football. Philip Rivers threw a touchdown pass to Chris Chambers against the Dolphins—his 12th straight game with at least one TD throw. Brandon Jacobs recorded his seventh career 100-yard game last Sunday (Giants are 6-1 in those games) and is averaging 95.0 yards per game on the ground in 2008—3rd best in football. OPEN Sports fantasy writer Ian Riley points out that Kyle Orton faces seven pass defenses in his remaining 10 games that rank below 22nd currently Gus F. should like his chances against a secondary that has yet to record an interception, and the Lions’ D-line has just four sacks (third-fewest in the NFL).
