What about Busts/Overpriced OFs?

Can protect two of these three OFs?

Soriano $38
Abreu $24
Dunn $21

Which OF do I let go?

Mike, nice mix of three outfielders. All three Outfielders look close to 5x5 12 team auction values, all show as slightly overvalued according the 3/12 Average auction prices from fantasyAuctioneer.com

I am guessing soriano might be the most over valued so if you really want him drop him and then just plan on trying to rebuy him at that price, i doubt he can go much higher.

Tough one, Mike. Dunn is the right price, so keep him. (I play in more OBP than BA leagues, this might calculate differently for you).

Again, through my own lens, I always need more steals, so Abreu gets a boost here. Finally, Soriano is just too dang expensive. Will the $$$ you save help you a lot elsewhere? I hope so.

Drop Soriano.

You forgot Headley!

Soriano's way overvalued, how much will he run?
Lenny   | 69.112.219.xxx | 2008-03-14 11:01:56
Headley is 3rd base eligible..see 3rd base

The name is Jerry Owens and he plays in Chicago. Can't understand why no repect for a guy who stole 32 bases last season and has looked good enough to be told he will be the centerfielder this season if he is healthy. His speculation has to be higher than some of those you've listed. What am I missing here, he's going to lead off probably score between 80-100 runs, steal 35+ bases and hit around .275, isn't that sleeper enough?
Lenny   | 69.112.219.xxx | 2008-03-14 12:12:59
Owens stole 30+ bases last year we know that ...we bye that We will pay for his 30 but IF Sox land a CF as they have promised....Owens is a bust..A sleeper is a player doing better Ive seen &18 on Owens so far...Big risk But he could get 50 if he gets hot.....empasiss on COULD

Yeah, I thought Headley would be in here as well since he is playing for the OF position. He has been doing quite well and I am personally excited about him being a late round flier for my team. I am not sure about his power ceiling going beyond 20 HR's but I heard that he gained some serious muscle in the off season which might move him toward more power potential down the road. Agree?
Mike Clarke   | 70.111.239.xxx | 2008-03-14 16:15:15
Thanks for the feedback on my keepers.

12 Team Mixed League. We keep ten players. High inflation rate for the studs. Soriano would likely go for slightly more at the draft as he would be one of the top two or three players available.

It is unlikely that I will have enough cash to get Soriano back. I am also keeping A-Rod at $43.

I go back and forth with different combos... I might just keep Dunn and Abreu and spend the other $14 or so that I save in other areas...
Mick - What?   | 71.201.136.xxx | 2008-03-14 19:36:53
You got to be kidding me Lenny? Johnny Gomes, Shelley Duncan, Franklin Guttierrez all considered sleepers? Yet Jerry Owens has the chance to be the starting CFer and lead off and he isn't considered yet these guys are in they may not even be starters as they have been part timers or may even be back in the minors. Shelley Duncan starting? That's a stretch isn't it? Giambi, Damon, Matsui, Cabrerra, Abreu heck where the heck will Shelley get his ABs to be a force at all?
Brad Betz   | 70.64.72.xxx | 2008-03-14 21:15:25
Seeing as the guy destroys you in avg. RBIs and HRs and has had a groin injury since Feb. 25 plus the fact that Brian Anderson has had a great spring and absolutely torn the cover off the ball - exactly how much do you think Owens is worth?
Mick - Okay   | 71.201.136.xxx | 2008-03-15 17:12:14
Lenny, he's got as much a chance as any of these other guys of making a good season happen this year. If he's healthy, and all these other guys have ifs as well, he will probably score close to a 100 runs and steal 35+ bases and still maintain an average that won't hurt your fantasy team. Don't forget that lead off guys aren't known for RBIs and HRs. You have to do better on your side of the argument to not mention them especially in this group for me anyhow, but that's my opinion and I'm not the expert but my "gut" says you're wrong on this one buddy. Do all the opinions on this site have to be subject to auction leagues? I'm talking h2h and I'm in a 16 team league with more than 5x5.
Brad   | 70.64.72.xxx | 2008-03-17 15:40:42
With Gomes and Duncan fighting all season you may have a point. There isn't much wrong with Guts though, and he'll probably contribute in 4 out of 5 categories. Truly hard for me to find much love foe Owens though. He just is not thought of highly by his org and he really hasn't shined in the minors (hence the "sleeper";). Is his D good enough for him to stick. I know he's fast enough, what are his routes like, etc.
