But has anyone asked the computer?

Penthouse..Outhouse? PDF Print E-mail

Kris Benson arrived in camp, which means his wife, Anna, isn't far behind. Anna Benson is perhaps more famous than her husband for her provocative photo spreads and interviews with Howard Stern and FHM magazine.

"It just goes along with the territory," Benson said. "It doesn't bother me one bit. Some of the stuff that's written, like I read the other day that she's a Penthouse model. Come on, man - she's not in Penthouse. Look up her name and show me some pictures where she was in Penthouse. You just run into that kind of stuff. It's not a big deal. She has fun with it. I have fun with it." LENNY.Anna Benson in Penthouse.husband Chris Benson in the Outhouse!..what a Life!

For many weeks I have been voicing my opinion on Albert Pujols Many times",As The Team Goes..So Goes The Player" To me Albert Pujols is a risk. Not only a physical risk but mental as well .Will he have the fortitude to play thru injury and be pumped up for a rebuilding year? After reading the quote for GM John Mozeliak, my concern grows deeper

Breakout Star? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jamie Samuelsen

What's the best part of spring training for you? When it’s 14 degrees and cloudy and the roads are like giant bumpy cakes, spring training represents hope. Hope that the good weather is right around the corner. When you listen to Dan and Jim on the radio, you can almost hear and feel the sunshine coming through the speakers, can’t you? It just makes you feel warmer.

But my favorite part of spring training is easily the break-out star. I know Sparky became famous for his bold proclamations about Torey Lovullo and Chris Pittaro. But he’s hardly the only one. Every spring, we get a guy who is either a journeyman who puts together a hell of a spring, or a young player who performs way beyond what’s expected. All the media get excited and tout this guy as the surprise of spring training. It’s great theater every year. Remember Mike Rivera’s spring in like 2001 or 2002. This guy seemed like the next Lance Parrish in Lakeland and ended up playing 43 games for the Tigers total. Or the famous Marcus Thames – Bobby Higginson battle in 2005, as if either one of those guys would have spelled the difference between 100 wins or 100 losses. I can’t wait to see who it’s going to be this year. Some name will emerge and it will seem like there’s no way Dave Dombrowski or Jim Leyland can keep that guy off the roster. My prediction for 2008 – ???????????  BRACE YOUSELF!!!

Remember Craig Hansen? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rob Bradford
Thursday, 14 February 2008

We all jumped on Craig Hansen as the Red Sox closer of the future! What Happened??

The realization that Hansen might have a problem was brought to a head in January 2007 when the Red Sox front office called him in to address the hurler’s propensity to fall asleep during team meetings. He told the group that after a trip to the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary’s sleep center he had been diagnosed with the condition that caused him to experience 56 minutes of restless sleep per hour compared with the average of four minutes every hour

Fantasy In VIETNAM PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sgt John Roberts
Wednesday, 13 February 2008

Hi Lenny& Paul ,I stumbled upon your website earlier this morning while watching my Grand Kids listen to your podcasts. My name is John Roberts and I was am a veteran of the Vietnam war. Your website brought back a lot memories which I had forgotten along the years. For example, did you know that such a great distance away from home we began making lists with our favorite players names and listening to the platoon operator give us their statistics after each game. We had our own version of fantasy baseball that was less modern, but it was ours. We'd spend countless hours arguing over who was the better pick and why, and after 3 years we made a sport out of it. Whoever was drafted back home had to send us letters with players information written in so that we knew what to change, the platoon operator got tired of us after a while, I think it's because we didn't include him in our fun.

What the Experts Are Saying

"When I read that in Sam Walker's book, it took me back to the early days of LABR and Tout Wars, when Irwin Zwilling and Lenny Melnick were perennial contenders. They did have a knack for knowing the marketplace so well that they could build their roster before even sitting down at the draft. Irwin and Lenny always seemed to be in control of the table and won numerous titles."

  • Wayne Provo : Where's Boris been?
  • gast_8694 : Great Fantasy football show, the best on BlogTalkRadio in my opinion. I really appreciate you guys keeping it real and fast. Lots of information in short amount of time.
  • Wayne Provo : Tony's OK by me...
  • Lenny : I really do not agree and many others share my love for Tonys work as he has 3 of the top 4 rated Sports shows on Blog talk radio
  • gast_7832 : Gast, I have to agree. Lenny, I can appreciate you wanting to make the site better and all, but this latest attempt of adding Tony to the podcasts is an utter failure. I have nothing against the guy Lenny, but he flat takes away from your show. You have votes on all sorts of things...put a poll up about limiting Tony's comments to the written word.
  • gast_2761 : So you're sayin' that you started the podcast right on time today Tony? Tell Lenny we miss him...terribly.
  • gast_7298 : We have asked for thise who use our service ,to send in a contribution to help cover our costs...we assume you have since you are a user...
  • gast_497 : Not a 'concern', more so a likely fact. Anybody who knows anything about advertising realizes where you make a buck, and it's not from charging a few bucks to get the magic key to access the same info they've been getting free for months. You've stuffed this 'free' concept down our throats for months...plz honor it.
  • Paul Greco : I appreciate your concern gast_497. If you'd like to contact Lenny and I you can e-mail us at advice@melnickandgrecofantasysports.com
  • gast_497 : Let me take a stab in the dark here. Based on your 'questionnaire', I can already see where this site is going, just like every other one out there. You'll give some basic info for free, but in order to get the 'special info', well that will cost ya....let's call it a 'premium' package. If I may, that would be the biggest mistake you could make, b/c you would lose visitors in a big way. The 'free' aspect is your hook, and if you do away with it, you'll lose plenty, including myse
